Multi-Primary Color LED Display
Chroma process technology mainly involves basic color wavelength selection, white field color coordinate adjustment, chroma uniformity processing, color correction technology, and, as will be proposed in this article, the 3+2 multi-basic color LED display chroma process technology.
Although LED light belong to the monochrome light, still there are 30~50nm half-wave width, so the saturation is too limit to show the abundant color of the great nature, especially the yellow and cyan color field.
These years, it is popular to discuss the 3+3 multi-primary display(red, green, blue; and plus the yellow, cyan and purple). In this way, people hope enlarge the color gamut and show the more abundant color of the great nature. Then, is it possible to realize the 3+3 multi-primary on led display?
Among the visible light, Yellow and Cyan are monochrome. We have already the high saturation yellow and cyan color LED. But the purple color is polychromatic light, and the single chip purple color LED does not exist. So it is not possible to product the 3+3 multi-primary led display.
But the 3+2 multi-basic color LED display is feasible. The 3+2 multi-basic color LED display chroma process technology would restore more natural colors, and present a more vivid and colorful image quality on LED display. But to the practical application, we need to conquer the problem of low brightness yellow, cyan LED. As well, the material cost would increase further. So at this stage it's just at the theoretically study period.
