The differences between AXT , COTCO CREE LED are showed on the below four aspects :

1. Brightness difference. For example, P20mm outdoor full color AXT screen can reach 5000 NITS , but the same spec COTCO CREE display can reach 5500 NITS.
2. Antistatic electricity ability. AXT LEDS will be broken some during the producing process(it can only withstand 300V human static electricity), but COTCO CREE has a good ability to protect themselves from it( It can withstand 1000V human static electricity), only 1~3 pcs LED broken during the producing process. Also this can influence the LED life.
3. Brightness Decrease, AXT led will lower about 20% in 1000 hours. But COTCO CREE led will lower only about 5% .
4. Life, AXT LED life is about 8 year, COTCO LED is about 10 years or more.

After a serial cooperation in different product and technology field, America "CREE" reorganized HongKong "COTCO" with a price of 200 million USD in 12th Mar, 2007. Actually "COTCO" had been one of the customers of "CREE", because they purchased "CREE" LED chip and did the encapsulation part. For the reason of higher technology level, the LED encapsulated by "COTCO" performed better characteristic than LED from other encapsulation companies in China mainland, even for the same "CREE" chip. So that's the reason why once there had been "COTCO" and "CREE" LED in the solution. But since 18th Feb, 2008, the name "COTCO" has been changed formally to "CREE". After this reorganization, "CREE" improved greatly the brightness and other performance with the new technology. Only that sometimes people are used to call "COTCO".

But as for LED display industry, it's important to know that in market, "CREE" LED exists in two types: the original "CREE" LED with "COTCO" advanced tech; the "CREE" LED encapsulated by other mainland companies. Original "CREE" performs higher quality and with higher price.

1. To increase the chip light output. The chip light output can be increased through improving the luminescence efficiency of the chips active layer or improving the external light extraction efficiency by optimizing chips shape or making larger scale chips that run high density current.

2. To use the light effectively. In other words, to increase the amount of light that irradiate towards the needed direction. In this method, light wave control technology is used. Through a better design of the optical structure shaped by the packaged epoxy resin, the light can be controlled to shine towards expected direction, thereby improving the brightness of LED.

In some modern countires, the led digital led display mainly use 10 dots process system,1024 degree grey scale. RGB 3 basement colors can composed 1.07 billion colors.

Although LED screen grey scale is the determind factor of color amount, it is not mean more and more is better. first beacuse people eyes' distinguish degree is limited, and also system process dot enhance will inclear the cost. the cost performance will be lower. usually, for people use and commercial application, 8 dot system is enough. for the broadcast LED screen products can use 10 dot system.

This introduction will begin from LINSN LED display control system. And we will make the introduction of both hardware and software parts. Please find below photos of sending card and receiving card. There will be one sending card installed in the controller PC, and one receiving card installed in each cabinet, which consists of the LED display panel.

The DVI signal comes from the sending card in PC and transferred to the receiving cards in display body. And if other kind signal for example from TV, Camera or any other devices be input, a small device called Video Processor will then be adopted. In this way, all the signal will first come to the video processor, and then transferred to the LED display body.

It is the same way with ZDEC.

Please email us  for the LINSN control system software manual. And you will learn the software function by reading the user manual in detail. For the reason of lower price and good software function, LINSN is chosen by most LED display manufacturers. But the advantage of ZDEC is the higher refresh frequency. If one display is used much in TV broadcast and other similar application, ZDEC will be the choice. And sometimes, the hardware part of ZDEC controller is integrated with the software part of LINSN control system.

And the control distance can reach 100m, which is enough for most clients need. A LED screen will be installed with a structure, the function of which is not only to back up the display and decoration, but also, there will be a small room inside or by the side of the structure to place the control PC. And this is the most economic way for control. But for some special clients, they will not place the control PC by the side of the LED display, because it's not convenient for them to edit and program the content by the side of the LED display. Then they will request a longer control distance. In this condition, a fibre-optic (please refer to google wikipedia) will be chosen. And in this way, the control distance from the LED screen to control computer can reach 10Km, or even more. But the relative high cost make it not economic solution. And it is usually for the far distance control without internet connection. If internet connection works in the location of both the control PC and LED display, we will recommend the remote control by internet. In next chapter, we will show how it works.

Firstly we will begin with the application requirement. For most application, the signal from control PC to LED display screen is transferred via RJ45 cable. The distance of 100m is enough for most clients' requirement. And it is the most economic way. But some clients would like to control the display in a further distance than 100m, or even thousands of Km. In this application, the remote control by internet will be chosen.

Secondly we will inform the condition to realize the remote control by internet:

1. The Internet Connection For Both Location of LED Display And Control PC.
2. One more PC.
At last, we will introduce the signal transfer in a simple way. For most people it's not strange to know that one PC can control another PC through internet. And the essential of LED display remote control is the same. But our software will combine and set the control in a convenient method. And the operator will easily control the display from quite a far distance.

Virtual pixel technology is mainly used for full color LED display, to show a better image and video. It is realized by making the RGB LED shared by 4 pixels at the same time(please see below drawing), instead of 1 pixel in real pixel technology. With the virtual pixel technology, we can use the same number of LED to create a better image and video in higher resolution. It is the new and best technology to make clear video on LED display products. Theoretically to show the same resolution video with virtual pixel LED display, we need only 1/4 area of the real pixel LED display. In another word, for the same size LED display, the sharpness of the virtual pixel is 4 times as better as real pixel LED display.

But actually from the report of our technology stuff, the sharpness of virtual pixel LED display is 1.6-1.7 times as better as real pixel LED display. The difference from real pixel LED display to virtual pixel LED display:
1. Arrangement: In real pixel LED display, the RGBtricolor) LED are placed nearby each other to compose a real pixel, which forms the dot-matrix; In virtual pixel LED display, the RGB LED are placed in average distance, and each LED is a pixel, which forms the dot-matrix. So a easy way to distinguish virtual pixel LED display by apperance is to see if it's in average distance.
2. Resolution: In virtual pixel LED display, each LED is considered as a pixel, so for the same size LED screen to show video or image, the sharpness of virtual pixel is 4 times as clear as real pixel.

But when to show the monochrome color characters, for the reason that the LED can not be used by 4 pixels at the same time, the sharpness turns to the same with real pixel LED display.

Just the same with all the electronic equipments, different kinds outside jam signal exists in the power supply of LED display. And when the LED electronic display is working, it is emitting different kinds EMI signal. The man-made EMI signal and nature EMI signal influence great the normal running of the electronic equipments, by the way of transmit and radiat.

Especially in nowadays, accompany with the greatly spread of the computer and domestic appliance, the jam signal in electricity gets serious and becomes one kind of environment polution. And the function of EMI filter is not only making the LED display accordant with the requirement of the transmit in the electromagnetism compatibility standard, but the reasonable reason is:
1. EMI filter will prevent the jam signal from LED display to power line.
2. EMI filter will prevent the jam signal from the power line to LED display.
The EMI filter will transfer the power of direct current, 50HZ or 400HZ to LED screen without attenuation. In this way, the LED display panel will be protected well. And also, for the reason of a clear and stable signal, a clear video and image will be seen in LED display..

In different environment condition,the request brightness of LED display are different according to the environment contrast ratio.Indoor LED display request a lower brightness but high request for viewing angle. Outdoor LED screen's brightness is higher than environmental brightness, and also with better grey degree, therefore its viewing angle request is not as high as indoor one, generally between 35-- 50 degree. If the viewing angle of LED lighting part become lower, the brightness will be higher. Vice versa. If the contrast ratio between LED screen's brightness and environmental brightness is higher, the led display's showing performance will be more colorful. However, if the brightness of LED display is too much higher, it is bad for people's eyes; and much more power are being wasted , much more heat being produced ,then tempreture become much higher, and then led chip's brightness decrease much faster, of course, its lifespan will become shorter. Hereby, LED display's brightness and viewing angle should be fixed by the request of application environment.

LED Display's Malfunction And Solution

1. The whole led display cannot be enlighted. (black screen)
A: Check the power supply of the LED display, Use the test pencil or the multimeter to check if there is power at the electric end of the switch. There maybe something wrong with the switch or circuit.
B: As for the led display in -phase with PC, first check if the PC were turn into dormancy station or the screen protection station. If it were in the dormancy station, then you enter into the control panel, start the power management, choose the never about the syetem wait and close monitor, then the computer won't in the dormancy station and the LED screen will work normally. If the computer didn't enter into dormancy station, then you can open the outline boarder of the computer to make sure that the controlling card and the signal cable is inserted firmly. Check if the singnal cable were break off. After all these can solve the above question.
C: Check if the signal cable were put through. Please follow the conjunctive print and check-up.

2. The whole led module cannot be enlighted.
A: Several of led module in horizontal cannot be enlighted. Check if the singnal line between normal led module and the abnormal led module were put through.
B:Several of led modules in vertical cannot be enlighted. check if the power were supplied normally.

3. The LED document cannot show the whole picture or the location is incorrect.
A:First, check if the parameter of the software about the led display position and the size of the led display were in accordance with the installtion engineer requested. If you don't remember it, you can count the pixels of the led display to confirm the size. Then you compare the size with the vision place . then adjust the setting of the computer, Until the vision is all the same with the led screen.
B: If the vision is not all-sided as the size of the document , then you need to check whether the document size is the same with the led display size.
C: Open the outline border, check if there is conductor at the controlling card.

4. The led display has no signal.
A: Check if the parameter of the software are accord with the engineer requested.

This beacuse there is a voice controller in the graphic card which has some collision with the computer voice colltroller, so close the computer voice controller. It will be ok.

Outdoor LED display must be stable enough to work well 7/24 and withstand extremely stormy or sandy-storm weather. For the manufacturers, it is required that outdoor led displays should meet the criterion at least IP65, so what is definition of IP65?

"The IP Code (or International Protection Rating, sometimes also interpreted as Ingress Protection Rating) consists of the letters IP followed by two digits and an optional letter. As defined in international standard IEC 60529, it classifies the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects (including body parts like hands and fingers), dust, accidental contact, and water in electrical enclosures. International Protection Rating Of Dakco Outdoor LED Display

It's the technical introduction by reading which you will command all the conception in details. But here as a company dedicated in LED display screens, we'd like to be short to avoid any unnecessary mistake.

The IP code of outdoor led display:


1. Front: IP67

The first digit indicates the protection against dust. And "6" means Dust Tight, which means no ingress of dust and complete protection against contact.

The second digit indicates the protection against liquids. And "7" means ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 m of submersion).
2. Back: IP55

The 2 digits indicate the same parameter with above. But the letters are different.
And the first "5" means Dust Protected: Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment; complete protection against contact.
The second "5" means: Water projected by a nozzle against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects.
According to the 《The General Criterion For LED Display》 formulated by the LED Standard Working Group of CESI (China Electronic Science Institution): Indoor LED display should be IP20+, Outdoor LED display should be IP33+
So with IP67 for the front side, and IP55 for the rear side, we ensure the led display working well in all the outdoor environment and weather conditions.

Clarify On the IP65

Sometimes clients are misled by non-professional suppliers who aim only selling out the led screens. As the reliable partner, we think it's necessary to make clear each confusing point, and be honest with true result.
For the front side, it's no difficult to reach "IP65". But for the rear side, as long as there's air inlet and outlet, the protection against dust can't reach "6" - totally prevent the dust.
In another word, as long as the heat dissipation design based on fans, the air inlet and outlet is necessary. As a result, the ingress protection can't reach "6".

LED display is full digital equipment, which is driven by the impulse current. The Gray-scale and Brightness is realized by PWM (pulse-width-modulation). The illumination of LED is pulse-type. When the frequency of pulse repeating is not fast enough, the human sight would feel twinkling. So, how high the frequency can eliminate the twinkling? Ferry-Porter rule points out, when watching a pulse illumination, coming with the improvement of the pulse repeating frequency, there is a critical point for human eyes. People will feel the illumination continuous, when the frequency is higher than the critical point. That’s we call Critical Fusion Frequency.

Refresh Rate defines how many times the content on the display repeats in each second.
According to Ferry-Porter rule, and our experience, to eliminate the image twinkling, the refresh rate of full color LED display should be higher than 240Hz; Full color LED display with the brightness higher than 4000nits, the refresh rate must be higher than 400Hz.
If there’s camera catching the image and video on the LED display, or relay a TV broadcast (When rent the LED display to stages, arenas, etc events), it’s necessary to enhance the refresh rate to 2000Hz+.
To LED display, it enough to ensure the smooth image and video with the 50/60Hz Frame-Changing Frequency. And the meaning is not so big to improve further.


 As a disadvantage of high refresh rate, the LED display lifetime would be short, to a certain extent.
