Common terms of LED display

 LED

   Is the acronym for light-emitting diode Light Emitting Diode. It is the use the PN junction electrode of the semiconductor light-emitting principle to generate the colors red, green, blue and other electronic light emitting device.

 LED module

 Certain LED light-emitting diodes arranged in a matrix or field. 8X8 matrix module, 8 segment digital module.

 LED cluster tube (pixels barrel)

 Into an integrated package of more than two LED light-emitting diode cluster tube, you can increase the brightness increase visible distance as a pixel. Cluster tubes are mainly used for outdoor display.

 LED display

LED module or cluster tube size assembled arranged in a matrix, the dedicated display driver circuit, DC power supply, software and framework constitutes a LED strip screen as needed. Can display various information such as text, images.

 pixels

 LED display can be individually controlled for each light emitting unit is called a pixel.

pixel diameter

 Pixel diameter refers to each of the LED light-emitting pixel point in diameter, in millimeters.

spacing

Center distance between the LED display pixels is called the dot pitch. Point spacing smaller the pixel density per unit area, the higher the resolution is also high.

 real pixels

Resolution

 LED display pixel number of rows and columns is called the resolution of the LED display.

Gezer

According to the Principles of color, and now any color in the world by the different intensity of the red, green and blue colors mixed three colors called primary colors or primaries.

 dual color

 I.e. each pixel consists of two color LED die components: one for the red tube core, and one for the green tube core. In which red, green are the primary colors. Of the screen shows the composition by dual-color pixels to generate pseudo-color display (65,536 colors).

 full color

I.e. each pixel by the three primary colors of the LED die: one for the red tube core, and one for the green tube core, and one for blue die. Which red, green, and blue are the primary colors. Tricolor pixel of the screen shows a full-color display (16,777,216 colors).

gray and gray-scale

Grayscale considered brightness, LED industry, especially as the luminance of each color. Gezer luminous brightness division, is a gray-scale intensity size. The higher the gray level, the display can produce more of the color displayed, but the cost is also higher.

256 gray dual color display that can display color is 256X256 = 65536 color; such as 256 gray-scale full-color screen, can display color is 256 × 256 × 256 = 16777216 colors. Currently used 256 gray.
